The Helleberg that I currently use is the little known Giardinelli Helleberg. I just got it back from Lee Stofer who redid it completely. When I sent it to him it was worn down to the brass and the shank had a few cracks in it. I really liked the way it played on my 5j though. So I sent it to Lee who performed just short of a miracle. He rounded the rim out and magically got the cracks out of the shank. He rounded the rim out a little too. It was then sent to be replated and is now gold. I took it to band practice a few days back and everyone noticed a difference in my sound. It is just a huge difference. The Giardinelli though does not resemble any helleberg out there currently. It kind of looks like the current UMI line but not quite. You might want to try one of the Laskey's. Good luck
