Sticking Pistons

I've been having a lot of trouble with the valves on my Yamaha 642 euph hanging up when released. And of course, always at the worst possible moment. Horn is only two years old, so wear is probably not the culprit.

I was oiling the valves the other day and it occurred to me that the little guides (Tacquets?) and keyways may not be getting enough lubrication so I put a couple of small drops of rotor oil on the guide itself and into the keyway in the valve casing.

So far things are much better and I've gone several days now with no sticking valves.

Not sure this is a "sure cure" of any kind but thought I'd just pass it on.
