I love my 56j. Plenty of power, and plenty of agility. The only intonation issues I have run into are (I'm certain) me and not the horn. FWIW, mine doesn't have the sharp f problem. I picked it out from a variety of horns that I tried in the same visit to Brook Mays, so the horn has something in its sound that got my attention more so than the others I tried. I can't really put my finger on what that "something" is, but my 56j has it. I have alway been a medium-large bore rotary player, and this small-bore piston set-up gives me so many more options in terms of sound color and shape than I was ever able to get on my previous horns.

Cost is great, too. I paid ±$7000 for the horn with a case. I understand that the price has actually come down a bit since I bought mine. I don't think that there is a better horn for me at that price.
