I got a chance to play one of these euphoniums at my local music store back in June/July last year when it came out (thats in England). I wasn't impressed really, it seemed like a cheaper version of Yamahas 321 but doesn't play as well. Tone was very stuffy and intonation was out. The valves are good but very big caps and noisy. The 3 + 1 valve style is also a little odd. On a Besson or Yamaha you wrap your left hand under the main back branch to support the euph and use the fourth valve but on the Jupiter the fourth valve is on the front side so you are not supporting the instrument with your left hand and the weight is on the right. (I know what I mean but its hard to explain!) In the UK we cannot get hold of new Yamaha 321 euphs but the Jupiter is about the same money as a Besson, non-compensating 700 series and i'd go for the besson every time!
