Thank you, Richard. Those are exactly the reasons why I said that he was probably using his Holton. The recording also doesn't sound as though somebody dumped a mike right down the tuba bell, either. And as for someone sounding "huge" on a Boosey Eb, I own one and I have a very big low register - much better than my high register. Be that as it may, I can't get it sound just like a "BAT". I heard the guy in the RPO (Royal Phil.) play Mahler 5 on his B&H eefer. Although he did a fairly impressive job, I would not in any way describe his sound as being "huge". I would say "adaquate" - more like hearing a big 3/4, or small 4/4 CC.
