I think the only reason we think 25-50 is a good audience is because our standards let us think that. We should not think that small. A lot of work goes into these recitals, and they should be heard and rewarded with a good crowd. Over publicize and do recitals for captured audiences. My senior recital had about 90 in the audience when faculty recitals were averaging 30, and my most recent recital had well over 100 mainly because I was a guest at a summer music program. It is worth our effort to make sure people get in the room when when we play. Its great that there are people willing to do this...now get people to come hear. Awesome!
