I will ALWAYS be inspired by not only his playing, but also his teaching. I've had the great fortune to work with him on a couple of occasions, from lessons/quintet and quartet rehearsals/masterclasses to even turning piano pages for one of his recitals. I will always cherish those opportunities and hope to have more in the future.
But even though he may not be playing publically anymore after May 26th, the great wonder of recordings can always remind you of his mastery. Whether it's his solo recordings or LAPO, Roger Bobo has made a HUGE impact on not only the tuba community, but music everywhere.
