I was helping my sons middle school tubist the other day. There was one 8th grader who when I asked to play a tuning Bb, well it was extremely flat. When I matches pitch, he was playing an A natural but no valves were down. He was using a standard middle school old jupiter BBb 3 valve with a Conn 24AW mouthpiece. When I had him switch horns and mouthpieces, the same. When I played the correct pitch and asked him to match it, he couldn't do it (atleast not without him playing the finguring for a B natural to get a correct pitch for a tuning Bb). This is very wierd and I have no clue what to do other than to ask the great minds on here for help.
