Here's my situation: I have been asked to choose and perform a piece for tuba and orchestra in my community orchestra's upcoming "Concerto Concert" in October. Four or five other musicians are also doing the same on other instruments. Most of them will be playing Baroque or Classical selections. In talking to the conductor, I think he would like me to play something fairly contemporary to "balance things out", but something that people will want to listen to. Any ideas? All suggestions are appreciated.
BTW, I'd rather not do RVW - I'm playing a BBb and its a little out of my league. Thanks in advance. Roger B.
