What kind of daily routines(read: warm-ups) do people out there use? What do you consider to be essential to the maintainance/growth of your playing abilities? Buzzing? Flexibility exercises? Articulation? Breathing exercises? Extreme range/dynamic work? Examples would be greatly appreiated. Also, if you play more than one horn.. do you go to the trouble of playing all your warm-up routine on both horns? How do you balance this.. is it according to what literature you are currently working on.. or a weakness you see in your playing? My warm-up routine grew prohibitively large over spring break when I had nothing all day to do but practice for a week. I reaped tremendous gains from having the opportunity to do this but now I'm being forced by time constraints to question what is essential daily playing and how to address my weaknesses in an intelligent time efficiant manner. If I'm not carefull I'll become a tubist that happens to be exceptionally good at playing his warm up. ;b
thanks in advance,
joseph :)
