I play a lacquered Sonora I bought from Giardinelli Music. Giardinelli stamped their name on it, so when I bought it, it was sold as a Giardinelli tuba. It sounds like it is very similar to yours. The open harmonics on mine are "dead on" in tune with each other. I looked at the picture on e-bay for a long time, trying to decide if it was a Sonora. I also e-mailed the seller to ask the brand, but got no response. If I put my Sonora next to a Karl Zeiss, it's pretty hard to tell them apart. Same braces, etc. I have always wondered where it was made. You made refrence to previous posts concerning Sonora's. Can you direct me to them? Do you know where the Sonoras are/were made?
