Yes, the cheapie trombone has now benefitted from a little knowledgeable repair work by a local compadre. Slight dings were removed, but it was concluded that dirt was the worst culprit. The slide is now smooth as silk, and the repairer demonstrated it by using it in our quintet rehearsal. He sounded fine on it, including a very sweet lead on Amazing Grace that I might be able to emulate in another 50 years of working on it. He even used my 6-1/2 AL. The Olds Ambassador may be a student instrument, but it is more than capable of making music. The only complaint was the narrow slide, but I have a skinny neck, heh, heh.

Not bad for sixty bucks and a six-pack honorarium.
