I do one every once in awhile, although mostly for my own amusement, and not to raise money. I'm more interested in what sort of sound the result produces. Current "Frankentuba" project is a York Master-body-with-Grand-Rapids-York-bottom-bow-and-bell CC.
Matt Walters and Bob Rusk have been known to do some of these also.
