The eminent British composer John Ireland wrote several pieces for brass band. One of the nicest is the "Downland Suite", 4 movements, impressionist harmony. There is also an effective "London Overture". I believe Rubbra's name is spelled with two b's. His music is quite good, it's a shame that his symphonies are not played anymore. Apparently Arnold Bax wrote a number of fanfares for brass, but they are not published. Good luck on a good project. John
