Horovitz wrote the Bassoon Concerto with strings after he wrote the Euphonium Concerto.
In his mind they were two entirely different animals.
We both rather agreed that the Bassoon Concerto played on Euphonium, with its improved trills, low C and string accompaniment was superior to the Euphonium Concerto.
