The Mirafone you'll notice be a lot brighter, especially the 181-5. The 181-6G is a lot more solid sounding. The PT-15 has a darker sound with nice color where as the Mirafone is brighter and sparkles in the upper register. I think both works for any ensemble setting an F tuba would be suited for. But if you were to go for the Mirafone, I would suggest the 6 valve goldbrass one.
