I hope you didn'tpay much for that mouthpiece! yOu really can't say " tat's why you shouldn't tae lessons from another student" because you could be taking lessons from a dumb pro. I actually know of some who tell their students air doesn't matter! THere really is no defenase against bad teachers. I guess you just have to know what to trust. Well anyway, it sounds like the mouthpiece is to big for you. It only matters what is comfortable for your lips to work inside of. If you have a mouthpece ht like comes up to your nose and below your you chin, or across to your ears ( exaggerations! you get the idea) it mkes it dificult for you body to work with them. ON the other hand, if the mouthpiece is comfortable and you want to blame it for nonimprovement, that is not good.
