So, since it has come the time in my career to end borrowing a solo horn for applicable needs, i'm looking for the best ideas for a solo horn. I obviously don't have gobs of money, and i'm not exactly sure if the the F is my best bet due to its "pregnant baritone" sound (lol)...just a preference. Either way, i'm looking for some input on whether to purchase a Besson 983 Eb? Any ideas on "tubaish" F's? The ones that I have played on that sound closer to tubas usually have grave intonation issues, and this has not been as apparent on the Eb horns. Also is the Eb starting to become a more practical instrument these days?
