You know, now that you mention it, i think it might be the thumb that is causing me all that pain.
When playing, i keep my thumb very rigid, locking and tight on the underside of the tube where my hand rests. I'm sure you are not supposed to use this much force when gripping the tube, but arent you supposed to apply some force?? Isnt that what the tube or ring is there for, to fix you hand so you can more easily depress the vavles??
