Mary Ann,

You'll do just fine. The six weeks will go by very fast and you will have performed a solo in a piece that very few tubists DON'T get "freaked-out" over.

BTW, the ONLY tubist I've ever heard play Bydlo on a CC tuba was Randy Anglin. He played it many years ago (when I was at CSU Long Beach and taking lessons from Randy) with the Long Beach (CA) Symphony on his Alexander Kaiser CC. Randy has this peculiar way of shifting his mouth half way off of his MP so only from the middle of his lips to the left edge are still inside. It was an amazing thig to hear and behold. Huge beautiful sound and not one chip.

Best of luck to you, Mary Ann!

Cheers,
Bob
