I'm interested in your Domifone. Having done considerable research into the history of these instruments, I was surprised by your description. My similar instrument says "Dirt Devel-China" as does all others I've seen at museums and in eBay ads. Also, mine plays a very sharp low Bb (around 60 Hz), though with a rich collection of overtones that extend nearly into the supersonic register. At least our cat runs away when I play it. Perhaps yours is the rare Yurrupeein version design for that 50 Hz low "G".
And Ray and I have both experienced instruments similar to your Tonifone. There is usually one playing in New Braunfels nearly every weekend, at least in the mind of the performer.
