Hello out there! As of late I've found that most of the time i do not find any improvment on my sound by just playing. I've been doing the mouthpiece only thing for about 2 months and I've got a very solid sound, but i cant help but feel that it could be better.
(I've also beaten the hell out of long tone exercises, what a help they were)
I'm thinking of trying something new: Using very different mouthpieces on my tuba.
I've got a bass trombone mp, 2 trombone mouthpieces and a small f mouthpiece. ( I have a 3 valve Besson BBb).
I've got some "adaptors" so all these mp will fit in my lead pipe. But I was just wondering, does anyone have any comments on this approach?? Any tried it before?? Or do you have another, better way that I could get a better sound?
THANKX!!!
