I agree with Tom and Jim, I use a DEG tuba stand and it works great. Very portable, supports the weight of the horn without restricting the horn's motion very much, is completely adjustable, and very lightweight. I use mine all the time. Like Tom said, not having to hold up the horn makes a huge difference in the physical aspects of playing. I guess folks who can balance the horn either on the chair or on their legs won't see as much benefit from a stand but that certainly isn't me. Once I wasn't holding up the horn while playing, everything became more relaxed. Try one out and see if you don't feel the same.
