During a Broadway show (locked in the pit - and opening night nonetheless) I had horrible stomach cramps which could only mean one thing. What was worse, there were quick changes back and forth from baritone to tuba which required bending over this way and that. :^(
I managed to make it (with great suffering and acceptable playing) to intermission and got some medicine from one of the touring cast members ("Thank GOD!", I thought). During the second half, as my cramps were just as bad and I was getting SLEEPY, I looked at one of the pills - antihistamines.
