Visit the San Jose web site and take a look at the action plan to put the orchestra 'back on its feet'. They've targeted some interesting things.... things everyone who is involved in community or symphony music should take a hard look at.
We are just a little not-for-profit community band that is basically run by amatuer musicians. We're not financial wizards and our tuba players don't EVER play above the staff. However, the rules are the same. Don't spend more money than you have and ALWAYS play for the audience.
They must have the whole community upset with them if they can't raise $125,000 to save the music library.
