Absolutely! I agree with Paul, the Koegel(sp?) arrangement is an abomination. I always push our librarian to leave the tuba part out if, for some reason, that version is put in the folders. If the conductor still doesn't get it, I try to explain why the tuba should never play this piece. Let us know how it goes if you use the cimbasso. I'm curious but, knowing that part, I can't imagine it would be effective.
