Have your local instrument repair tech check it out. Last week, I was retrieving a stuck dent ball out of a french horn bell using the dent eraser magnet, and noticed a strange scraping noise inside the instrument. After the dent ball was out, I continued to move the dent eraser magnet around the bell 'til I found the object, and pulled it out. There was a SCREWDRIVER stuck in the bell of this Conn french horn, apparently for many years.
