Philip Farkas did not recommend articulating from the back of the lip. He was thinking of the lower lip because there used to be a technique of sticking it way out. You might want to look up the discussion in The Art of Brass Playing. He describes the old practice of putting the mpc way into the lower lip kor "setting in."
