Just got a Weril 680 from UPS on Monday... Here goes a report.

Out of the box to playing index: 2 Minutes, including oiling valves.

Performance, Playability and Post-play impressions:
(All are out of a possible 10)
Playability: 9.5
Character of sound : 8.5
Workmanship: 8.5
Design: 8.9
Intonnation: 9.8

Overall comments:
1. The horn looks physically smaller than it feels when you're playing it.
2. This is the first tuba I've played which responded much like a Euphonium, but which a very strong Tuba character.
3. Physically, there are some workmanship issues, but they seem to be all superficial. The construction is very solid.
4. Almost everything's in the "right" place. (Read: Intuitively Findable.)
5. This horn seems very sensitive to the player. It immediatly produces a predictable sound and even sound with little negative feedback. However, it seems extremely flexable in response to variations. Playing the horn "straight", with little attempts at phrasing or expression yields a dull, but predictable result. Very little effort is required to bring about variations in this. The horn almost works with you.
6. The low range is fairly responsive.
7. The horn CAN survive in an 90+ piece ensemble with good results.
8. This has more to offer than a "student" horn.

Mouthpiece rant(guide, FAQ, whatever) to follow. Hope this helps someone.
