Our dixieland band does "strolling" gigs all the time, and the tuba player just brings a small, lightweight folding chair. It's been perfectly acceptable. Although I can't imagine anyone using a 6/4 on a dixieland gig...you must have to hold back quite a bit to maintain the balance....
