actually valves can ONLY rotate WITH or AGAINST the air. Let me try to explain:
When the air reaches the valve, coming from the lead-pipe, and you press the valve down, the rotor turns towards the valve, thereby sort of shoveling the air-stream right into the valve, into the new direction. Thatīs called rotating with the air.
Now you let the valve go again, and it does just the same thing, just the other way round: It turns back into open position, and what previously was in the airīs way, barring the air from going straight on, falls away, actively sucking the air in behind it right into the now new - i.e. straight on - direction. again, working in your favour, with the air.
Now, if you want to turn the whole affair around: every time a valve moves, which is "against " the air stream, itīs turning just the opposite way, no matter when.

Uuuhm, kinda complicated, so I hope you get what Iīm talking about..
