David, I appreciate what you are trying to say. Everyone has to make a living. However, I am a novice and like to do my own repair work as a hobby. I do my own valve work, soldering, spring and water-key cork replacement, de-denting. etc. I've even been known to build horns from scratch using bits and pieces. I know where to draw the line and I occassionally seek the services of an experienced repair person. I for one, refuse to leave my horn for a week just to have a water-key cork replaced. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. In MY opinion, Ferree's has done an absolute great service by offering repair materials to everyone. They are very helpful.
