Here you go, and don't say that I'm just tooting my own horn..............

Started piano lessons as a 6 year old.

I started on clarinet in beginning band.
Moved to oboe in the 8th grade.
Moved to bass clarinet in 9th grade.
Picked-up saxophone in 9th grade. Made high school jazz band.
Picked-up baritone/euphonium in 10th grade. Used in marching band.
Picked-up tuba, bass trombone, and bass guitar in 11th grade. Played first pro gigs
as a sax, bass, and bas clarinet player. Made all-state on bass clarinet, and qualified to audition on bari sax.
Marched tuba, made jazz band on bass bone, and all state on bass clarinet in 12th grade.
My first pro gig with a world-class big band on tenor sax.

Majored on bass clarinet in undergrad school. Picked-up string bass, flute, and trumpet as fun instruments. String bass became money maker. Tuba was marching scholarship, and bass clarinet/saxophone was concert scholarship.

Earned undergrad degree on clarinet, and then almost immediately started playing string/electric bass and bass trombone as the main gig instruments.

Graduate school was a bass trombone era.

At present, I own and play consistently the following:

Soprano Clarinet (buffet)
Conn Alto and Yamaha Tenor Sax
Cerveny v valve rotary trombone in Bb/C
Bach 50K3L bass trombone
Mirafone 186 BBb tuba
William Lewis Upright Bass with C extension
Carvin 6 string frettless electric bass

I wish I could afford a good euphonium, a tenor trombone, and a bass clarinet. Maybe someday......

Sometimes, more is better. I love to play music.
