The reason why I'm reluctant to travel with my horn (not tuba, horn) is that if I have to do the random "dump search" I'm afraid that something will get mashed, bent, or even taken. If I just _have_ to travel with my horn, I'm reaching a point where I'd rather send it a few days ahead of time via Fed Ex in a box, before I'll take my chances with the airlines. With a tuba, oh what a problem...I hope I never have to travel with it.
