Hi from England,
I use two different euphoniums in every recital, a Willson 2900 and an old 5 valve Josef Highams. The Highams requires me to unscrew the Doug Elliott shank for a smaller one, then tune to the piano, play the piece and refit the bigger shank and carry on with the Willson. It seems to take a while but after listening to a recording it took no time at all, the audience were glad of a little breather to cough and splutter etc. !
If I find another vintage horn I'll use that as well.
Best wishes,
Charley Brighton, Euphonium,
BBC Wind Band, London.
