This is not an answer to your question, but I was womdering if symphony players switch horns during a concert? Recently got some "orchestral excerps" and some of this stuff goes way up to G above the staff.I can hit the notes but they don`t have much body. If the composer wanted a sound like this why not give it to the french horn etc.?
