Correct me if I'm wrong (as if you wouldn't - heh-heh), but doesn't the MW-25 very closely resemble the Mir-186? It's been a while since I laid eyes on a 25, but I seem to remember asking the owner if it was a 186. Might give a clue as to the model # of the instrument in question.

FWIW, I have always liked Miraphones, but I also think that you tend to gravitate towards what is familiar to you. (OK, can I butcher the language any more?) But you know what I mean. I grew up playing Miraphone BBb's exclusively, and that is what I am looking at for a CC. Doesn't mean that's what I'll eventually end up with, but for me, it's a great place to start. According to the tuba census, more players played CC miraphones than any other horn, at the time of the survey. Hirsbrunner was a very close 2nd.

Mein zwei groschen.
