As far as handing tubas over to your local music store for repair (once your little beasties start workin' 'em over), most busy repair guys like the fact that they can order Miraphone parts by simply calling Badger Music or Allied Supply.
The newest generation of Miraphone links (most all of the '90's vintage links made of grey plastic have failed quickly) are plastic socket/metal drilled ball. I've found a DuBro (hobby shop stuff) product that is cheap, easily adaptable, and much more durable than the Miraphone links.
