Who are the more "popular" mpc re-platers, and how does one go about having a mpc re-plated? What's the cost?
Here's my particular situation. I've got a small F tuba mpc that's silver plated, with the brass showing through in a couple of places on the rim. I'd like to end up with a gold-plated mpc. Does one have to have it silver plated first (to cover up the brass) and then gold over the silver? (I ask this because I've heard gold plating "sticks" over silver better.)
