Mike, There are a FEW well known publishers who have exclusive rights to certain music and send out AWFUL parts. Our choice, deal with it, or play something else. In the orchestra biz, MANY times I have gotten rental parts what were ILLEGIBLE or torn, or missing measures or....well you get the idea. There ARE situations where we are slaves to the publihing houses, but I think we are talking about copying music, or purchasing readily available music.
