The only time mine moved was when I pulled the valve out to oil it. I wasn't expecting the washer to come out, but it had it's own plans. Unfortunately I didn't notice it until it had gotten wedged between the valve casing and the spring. It wasn't too much trouble to get it out though. Other than that, I can't say that they move from their proper positions.
