So basically all of these guys are telling you that your teacher is probably ramping you up because of your potential, yet unmet. Revel in this. One of my teachers never saw me as much of a player, so he never pushed me at all. I never grew. I know, it should have all come from inside me - but it didn't. It was not until much later, when I had a teacher that really pushed, that I made real progress. Now I strive to push my kids to the edge of thier abilities, which grow with evry lesson. Unless your teacher is just killing you, do what he demands and grow into his concept of your playing potential.
