I've used both and I'd say, though I don't know for sure (simply because I've never pulled out a caliper and measured them), that the 30H is slightly bigger in diamater than the S-H II and with a slightly more rounded rim. At least that is how it feels to me. Scott Laskey did extensive, empirical research in developing the 30H on the prototypical BAT, the CSO York. I use my 30H on a Nirschl York Copy and it works amazingly well. I couldn't tell you how the 30H differs in any other dimensions from any other mouthpieces because Scott isn't exactly broadcasting the results of his research. He's developed a mouthpiece that works REALLY well with 6/4 CC tubas, I tried one and it worked really well for me, and that's why I own one. As with any mouthpiece, I would suggest you play on one yourself and see what you think.
