I have been in the same situation as you for about a week. Over the summer, I played insane amounts of time per day (6-12 hours.....not exaggerating) (yes, I know I mispelled it). About a week ago, I didn't feel any desire whatsoever to practice. On top of that, I was working 8 hours a day on the weekends, and was very tired. I went without PRACTICING (I played in band and jazz band every weekday) for about 5 or 6 days. The day before yesterday, I was listening to some recordings of Gene Pokorny playing. Also I downloaded some foreign guy playing Csardas and it just made me feel like playing for some reason. I played about 30 minutes that day and maybe 45 to an hour yesterday, and am about to pick up the horn now. So, maybe you need some time away from the tuba. Take it easy and listen to the greats and I guarantee you'll miss it in a couple days. If not, then I don't know what to tell ya. Good luck,

Austin
