Besides oil and grease, I keep a double screwdriver (promotional freebie, with Phillips on one side, flat blade on the other), hex key (Allen) wrenches for the set screws I have spread among my tubas, a small crescent wrench (which has fixed more stands than instruments), a rag and slotted rod for cleaning out slides and valve casings, a single-edge razor blade in a protective holder for trimming frayed valve guides, some piston valve springs (which I store over a plastic tube to keep from tangling), some plastic rod-ends for rotary linkages, and a couple of heavy rubber bands (which can be used in place of broken rotary valve springs, to help unscrew a valve cap, etc.). I probably should switch to normal screwdrivers, so I can use their handles to drive rotary bearings out and back in, should a piece of crud wedge itself between a rotor and casing.
