What you say is in better concordance with a recurrent experience of mine, than are the reports on how major players like Sean have to audition to be allowed to play tributes to people, that can no long hear such tributes:
For years I was a regular reader of the "Down Beat" mag. Every single issue had a full page advertisement urging readers to enroll into US military bands.
The hook line was something to this effect:
If you can sing this tune, you ought’a join an army band!
The tune written in a magnum print, suitable for the elderlies like me, was "Land of Hope and Glory". Oh, what a challenge comparable to a 40 hours uninterrupted reading on the essence of the work of Einstein.
