I agree with you especially on the old rotary MW2155. I own one, and it is very "Alexanderish" in it's sound, even moreso than the new piston MW2155. It takes longer to get used to it compared to some horns, but you get a VERY unique, large, colorful sound out of it. It is more flexible sound-wise than the "York-tipe" instruments, in my opinion. Find one if you can manage the intonation.
