Euphonium for a few weeks in Jr. High. The darn thing had crap valves and was in the shop all the time. On one of its trips to the shop I asked to play the big thing in the back of the room which no one else dared. It was a Conn 20j I believe. Huge three valved beast. The school still owns it the last time I heard.
On a slightly related note, I did get to play bass drum on a band job recently and have learned a new appreciation for percussionists. It takes more skill than is at first appearant to play that thing.
