I would agree largely with Mr Elliot against a 'standard' size tuba mouthpiece, but i have a 32E (the E refers to the depth of the cup - shallow) and it is very small for a tuba - smallest i've seen. If you don't want to start your son off on Euph i would say the 32E would be a sensible choice; the shank would be the right size too...
