Try the Baltimore Brass web site. Dave Fedderly has several used horns listed and also carries the Weril line of tubas. He list a BBb 4V Weril (brand new) for $1800. I haven't played one but I've seen reports that they play pretty good for a new horn in that price range. Or, you can be patient and keep checking local classifieds and the many internet web sites that offer used instruments (WW&BW, Dillon, www.netinstruments.com, osmun, tubadave are just some examples). I found my Mirafone 184-4U in the classified section of the Orange County Register. I got it for $1400 including a Reunion Blues gig bag. There are some deals out there if you're patient.
